Busy Busy

Today was another busy day at CSS, as we prepare for the upcoming school year.

I have been extremely impressed with the work of our office staff and our counsellors.  It was non-stop action and they were still smiling at the end of the day.

We have been faced with some challenges, particularly with some really difficult scheduling issues.  It looks like we are going to proceed and add some more Grade 10 sections to relieve the pressure. I am hoping to resolve this tomorrow so we can make some timetable adjustments and get students, who didn't have full timetables,  full schedules. Thanks for those students for being patient during this.  It can be stressful, but understand that we are working hard to provide our students with academic programs that they feel good about.

Tomorrow we will have our Grade 8 students in to get organized.  We will be opening up the school for this at 9:30 am.

Getting Ready for Next Week

Our staff has been working hard to get things set for next week.  Thanks to our staff for working so hard this week! I appreciate your efforts.

Just a reminder that tomorrow we have our Grade 10 students in to get their lockers. The timetable for our Grade 10 students is very tight so changes to schedules will be minimal.

Busy Monday

Our office staff did a great job taking care of organizing lockers etc. for our Grade 12 students today.  Our counselors also facilitated course changes for our grad class today.  It was nice to have a chance to meet some of our grade 12 students today. I have posted a newsletter that Ms. Thomas had previously forwarded to the Grad Class; this can be found on the webpage.

Several of our teachers stopped by the school today.  It was great having a chance to connect with these staff members before we get started next week.

Tomorrow should  be another busy day with the Grade 11 students coming in. Student need to ensure that they have returned all of their textbooks from last year, or they won't be able to get a locker.  Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Operations Workshop Today

All Principals, Vice-Principals, Administrative Assistants and School Board Staff are at an operations meeting at Elphinstone Secondary School today.

The schedule for next week is posted in a PDF on the website-- this will appear in the Coast Reporter this weekend.

The first day school schedule will be posted on the the website next week.

In the Office Today

I will be in and around the office at Chatelech today.  I will be trying to get up to speed on a variety of things today. If anyone wants to stop by to say hello I welcome the opportunity. Tomorrow I will be at an operations meeting at ESS all day.

Principals' Working Session
