BC Minister of Education, Honourable Peter Fassbender, addresses principals and vice-principals at our annual conference in Richmond today.
Afternoon keynote speaker, George Couros, got everyone up to dance a little.

Internationally recognized thinker on the future of learning and innovation, Simon Breakspear, was the morning keynote speaker, while George Couros, Division Principal of Innovation of Teaching and Learning for the School Division (Alberta) was the afternoon speaker.
They were both excellent speakers and presented some great ideas. The conference continues until Saturday afternoon. It has been very inspiring so far.
Have a good evening.

Grade 8 Band
Once the last bell rings and the buses leave the parking lot, there is usually staff and students still here working. I stopped by the band room and listened to the Grade 8 Band today--well done Mrs. Mitchell and students.
It is a beautiful day and time to get some of the glorious sunshine, instead of the morning fog.
Have a good evening.

CSS Students Attend WE DAY in Vancouver
Twenty Chatelech Secondary School students, Ms. Strom and I attended "We Day" at Rogers Arena, in Vancouver, yesterday. It was an awesome experience. There were numerous speakers including: Premier Christy Clarke, former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Martin Luther King Jr. III, double amputee Spencer West, Assembly of First Nations Leader Shawn Atleo and others. Avril Lavigne was the headliner musician.
We Day is part of the Save the Children Foundation, which addresses global issues including clean water and education in third world countries. Our students will be doing some activities to support some local and global initiatives, accepting the challenge presented by Craig Kieiburger.
It was a pleasure attending this event with these student leaders!
Have a great weekend!
