Our lads persevered and won the game. Congratulations to Coach Scarr and the team!!!
Tomorrow is Turn Around Day so classes will not be in session. We do have our annual CSS Winter Formal tomorrow evening.
Have a good night.

SD 46 carpenter, Mr. Warren Phillips, proudly shows off his handy work. He worked hard to procure the wood for two of our neglected picnic tables outside of the District Life Skills room behind CSS. Thanks for the great work you did for our school and our students.
Have a great afternoon.

Chatelech Ski and Snowboard Team Off to a Great Start
The
Chatelech Ski and Snowboard Team’s season is off to a great start, filling the
podium for their past two races! In the
first competition, Graden Deasey brought home a first place in the boys
snowboarding, passing through the gates substantially ahead of the runner up. Pierre Martinet secured second place in the
boys skiing and Laren Pudek took third place in the girls snowboarding. Caleb Burnham had a great showing for his
first race of the season, with a fifth place overall.
The
very next week, the team raced again up at Whistler, and the first place
victory for the boys skiing went to Chatelech’s Pierre Martinet! Pearl Deasey brought home the second place
ribbon in girls snowboarding, and Laren Pudek secured third place for the
second consecutive week. Ella Adams
raced extremely well and came in fifth in the girls skiing category.
The
competition is heating up between Duncan Bryson and Jason Fournier as they
fight for the lead in boys skiing. Ingrid
Bryson secured a very respectable seventh place in the girls skiing, and Callum
Rive and Jasper Deasey followed up with a sixth and twelfth place respectively
in the boys snowboarding. Leif Magnussen,
Braydon Fletcher and Kaiden deRoon, who joined the team this year, have had a
great start to their season as well.
Chatelech will race again next week, and is sure to show strong again.
Thanks to Kirsten Deasey for providing the article and picture of Lauren.
Have a good day.

Provincial Exams Today
We were busy with our English 12 and Socials 11 Provincial Exams today. Tomorrow we have the English 10 Provincial Exam in the morning, along with Math 12 and Chem 11 school exams. The English 11 school exam and the Francophone 12 exam are in the afternoon.
As you can appreciate Mr. Biel and I are spending most of our time invigilating exams or preparing for the exams, so our availability is limited.
We'll be back to normal next week with the start of the second semester.
Have a good night.

Clean Freak & Rockets
Mr. Scarr making sure no dirt enters the weight room.
The Weight Room is impeccable due to the steps our PE staff take to ensure it stays clean!
Mr. Emmerson's Tech Ed 9 students built rockets propelled by air. The water in the rockets keep them balanced.
The aftermath of takeoff!!! The students really seemed to enjoy the activity. Great job.
Hopefully the great weather will continue into the weekend.
Until Monday!

New Graphing Calculators
Mr. Campbell was thrilled to get the new graphing calculators for his senior Math classes today. They had been tracking the order and knew that the shipment was in Richmond last night.
I look forward to seeing them in action.
Thanks again to the CSS PAC for helping us purchase the class set.
Our next big purchase is a new van-- one of our school vans has come to its final days. Hopefully we can procure this before next semester.
Have a good night.

Grade 9 Basketball vs Elphinstone
The Grade 9 Boys' Basketball team had their hands full with a tenacious Elphinstone squad. The game was pretty well even at the half. The Elphinstone press was too tough for our guys to handle and ESS took over in the 2nd half and won the game.
