Chatelech Ski and Snowboard Team Wins Big Again!

In the last race of the regular league season the Chatelech Ski and Snowboard Team took home first place medals in both the Boys Ski and the Boys Snowboard events.  Jason Fournier placed first in Boys Skiing, and Quinn White also proved unstoppable, winning first place for Boys Snowboarding.  Ingrid Bryson added to this triumph with a second place medal for girls Skiing.

The team raced a 'Boardercross' style course, titled the 'Terrain GS', which challenges racers with jumps, banks, and tight chutes.  This is the only time in the regular season that this course is used, which requires racers to push themselves on a course that they have had little chance to practice.

The team's success continued with Pearl Deasey winning third place in the girls snowboarding, and Levi Pearl and Jasper Deasey placing fourth and fifth for Boys Snowboarding.  Also placing in the top ten for Girls Skiing was Teal Randall and Nicole Roesser with fifth and six place spots.

Their  team spirit was a highlight - with every member of the team participating in a spontaneous costume display.    The Chatelech team showed up on the mountain wearing everything from capes and wigs to monster costumes.  Many of the boys drew some second (and third) takes by wearing Hawaiin Mumus, grass skirts and Bikini tops.   Others showed up with a more distinguished look - wearing formal suits and ties.

What a great way to end the season!

Provincial Exams--Day One Complete

Students wrote their English 12 Provincial Exams this morning and their Socials 11 Provincial Exams this afternoon.  Things went smoothly and the students seemed to be well prepared.

Tomorrow we continue with English 10 and Communications 12 in the morning and our Francophone students have their Francais langue premiere exam in the afternoon.

Our Grade 8 & 9 students will have classes tomorrow, but the blocks will be a little different, so we can accommodate our Senior School Exams.  In the morning we will have blocks A & E, while the afternoon will be blocks B & F.

Wednesday we will have our HACE 8/9 Day which is articulated on the PDF document on the CSS webpage.

Have a good evening.

Mr. H
